Seedlings

General Information about the Forestry Department's nurseries

The Agency has four nurseries across the island which provide seedlings for the Agency’s reforestation programme and projects, private forestry programme as well as for sale and distribution to the public..

Only three of the nurseries are opened to the public. These are located at 173 Constant Spring Rd.; Williamsfield in Manchester; and Moneague in St. Ann (adjacent the Jamaica Defence Force camp grounds).

The Agency provides several timber and ornamental seedlings as well as a select number of fruit tree seedlings.

Seedlings are sold year-round with timber and ornamental seedlings starting at $200 and $250 respectively.  Food/fruit seedlings start at $500.

The Agency also distributes select free timber and ornamental tree seedlings during the weeks leading up to Labour Day in May and National Tree Planting Day in October.
