Vacancy Attendant/Handyman

Job Description – Attendant/Handyman (Level 1)

  • Salary Range:  $435,175 - $531,609 per annum and any allowance(s) applicable to the post.

 

Job Purpose:     

Under the supervision of the Officer Services Officer, the Attendant undertakes general housekeeping to maintain a clean and tidy environment; delivers correspondence internally and provides refreshment for staff and visitors as required.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Housekeeping

  • Undertakes general cleaning of pantry/kitchenette and maintains appliances and utensils in a clean and tidy manner
  • Collects utensils from offices/meeting rooms before the end of each day, clean and store

 

General Cleaning

  • Wipes desks, chairs, cabinets and other furniture and equipment daily
  • Wipes windows and window sills twice weekly
  • Clean and disinfect telephones at least three (3) times weekly
  • Checks washrooms periodically to ensure they are in a state of cleanliness
  • Checks washrooms periodically and replenish supplies of toiletries as required
  • Sweep/wipe floors when required, especially to clean up spills and obviously soiled areas
  • Empty dustbins, particularly in the absence of the part-time cleaner(s)

 

Refreshment

  • Prepares and serves refreshment at meetings and other functions as required
  • Prepares and serves hot/cold beverage to staff as required
  • Provides water/ice to designated offices daily

Mail

  • Delivers mail to and from the Registry and between Divisions/Sections/Offices as scheduled/requested
  • Assists in the delivery of external correspondence when required
  • Delivers newspapers to designated officers daily

Other

  • Performs photocopy and binding services as required
  • Performs other related duties that may from time to time be assigned

Frequent standing and walking; occasional bending

  • Knowledge of how to operate photocopy and binding machines

Education/Experience

  • Secondary education
  • Valid Food Handler’s permit

Any combination of equivalent education and experience.
