The Forestry Department is an Executive Agency mandated to effectively manage the country’s forest resources while serving the interests of our various publics. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are being invited to apply for the following position:

 

FOREST TECHNICIAN, RESEARCH- LEVEL 5

Salary Range: $1,066,362.00 - $1,320,593.00 per annum, plus applicable allowances

Job Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Senior Research Officer the incumbent is responsible for the implementation of a variety of activities related to the Agency’s research programmes. 
.
Key responsibilities Areas:

  • Developing individual work plans
  • Participating in the development of the Branch/Division strategic operational plans
  • Participating in Public awareness and public education activities
  • Assisting in the implementation of approved external requests
  • Participating in inter-divisional related activities to achieve the Agency’s objectives
  • Layout and monitoring of experimental plots
  • Scheduling collection of data from the experimental plots
  • Inputting data collected
  • Preparing preliminary and progress reports
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Natural Science, Environmental Management or related area
  • Two (2) years’ research experience in a related field

OR

  • Any other acceptable combination of qualification and experience
