Brahim Diop


Senior Research Officer and Manager, Research Branch

Mr. Brahim Diop has been Senior Research Officer and Manager of the Research Branch since July 2014. Before then, he served as a Research Assistant under the GOJ/EU/UNEP Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Project. However, his journey began in 2011 as Forest Technician in Silviculture.

Before joining the Forestry Department, Mr. Diop, an internationally certified Bee Keeper, had his own business in Apiculture, where he not only managed his farm but several others.

He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology (Hons) and is currently pursuing his Master of Philosophy in Botany.

Mr. Diop enjoys badminton and surfing. He is a certified Pan-American Badminton Umpire and an active member of the Jamaica Surfing Association.
